Position Title: Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene Technical Advisor

Tasks/Objectives:

Ukraine Emergency Response, deployed as the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene, Technical Advisor for the Save the Children response in Ukraine. Reporting to the Program Quality Director, tasked with supporting all Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) activity in Ukraine for Save the Children, across multiple field offices, advising WASH program managers and in coordination with the UN WASH cluster.









Dnipro, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine
Supporting water and sanitation operations in conjunction with other Save the Children programs, (Health, Child Protection, Education, Food Security, Ect) along the Eastern and Central front, from Kharkiv down to Kherson. Coordinating with Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) partners in the UN WASH Cluster group to provide a cohesive water and sanitation response. Providing water lift pumps, water system control panels, generators, construction and repair of water tanks, pipelines and sludge trucking. Construction and repair of sanitation facilities in Clinics and IDP centers, showers and waste zones. 






Kyiv, Kyiv City, Ukraine
Planning, developing and implementing the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) strategy for Ukraine at country level operations. 

Draft Quality Benchmarks to guide program on output requirements, make sure QBs will be in sync with existing activities and indicators for the various Awards. 

Follow and support Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) activities to review program activities to associated Quality Benchmarks and Indicators. 

Guide Program managers on program activities and to ensure that targets are met regarding Award indicators, activities and detail descriptions. 

Coordinate with Program Development Quality (PDQ) Director to advise on strategic vision and direction for WASH program. 

Coordinate with other Program TAs to ensure cross-program integration, as WASH will support in same areas.




Map existing accomplishments for the WASH program and enable for cross program integration

Conceptualize and design cost effective and quality WASH program to support all program activities.

Understanding the situation on the ground, and current activities each field office is deploying, and the DIPs being implemented by each office.

Guide on WASH strategy on country level, attend UN WASH cluster meetings to ensure interagency coordination between NGO actors.

Review and manage active Awards/Grants that fund the WASH program. 

Advise and assist in Award rewrites/revisions when situation on ground changes and require indicator and activity rewrites.

Working with NBD, to draft bids for new awards, with guidance on indicators and activities appropriate to the situation on the ground.
